Tyler J. Waad

Tyler J. Waad is a Senior Attorney who practices exclusively in family law. He advises clients in both contested cases and mediation, guiding individuals through divorce, custody, and related disputes. By combining a strategic approach with strong advocacy, he works to deliver practical outcomes while ensuring each client receives clear guidance and reliable representation.

Tyler first earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Economics from the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner School of Business. He then pursued his legal education at Delaware Law School – Widener University, where he graduated with honors and obtained his Juris Doctor. Afterward, he was admitted to the Bar of the Delaware Supreme Court, beginning his service to families statewide.

Tyler is committed to professional involvement within the legal community. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Melson Arsht Inn of Court, and participates in both the Family Law Section and Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Delaware State Bar Association. His leadership was further recognized when he served as Chair of the Family Law Section for the 2023–2024 year.

Tyler also holds certification as a Superior Court Mediator and a Family Court Mediator in Delaware. During law school, he strengthened his advocacy through leadership roles, including Vice President of the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honors Society and Vice President of the American Association for Justice. He also contributed to the Moot Court Honors Society and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society.

Tyler values service to his community as much as his professional work. He volunteers as a coach for the University of Delaware Mock Trial Team and provides legal support for victims of domestic abuse through the Domestic Violence Advocacy Program. His dedication to both mentorship and community protection reflects his commitment to making a positive impact.
