Jill M. Abrahamson

Jill M. Abrahamson is an experienced attorney practicing family law, juvenile law, and criminal defense at Abrahamson Law Office. Since joining the firm in 2013, she has used her extensive background in litigation and advocacy to serve individuals and families through some of the most challenging legal situations. Known for her strong commitment to justice and fairness, Jill brings a global perspective and a passion for public service to her Nebraska-based practice.

Jill earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, where she earned specialization certificates in Criminal Law and Litigation. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Nebraska–Omaha.

Jill’s legal career spans three states and includes work in both state and federal courts. In California, she handled misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, as well as civil litigation. In New York, she worked as a court-appointed defense attorney with the Legal Aid Society and advised clients on employment matters and entertainment contracts. Before returning to Nebraska, she also served as an advisor to the President of Metropolitan Community College, focusing on union and policy matters.

Jill’s legal work is driven by a commitment to underserved populations. Prior to joining the firm, he volunteered with legal nonprofits in Nepal that champion women’s and children’s rights. This international experience deepened her dedication to advocacy, especially for women navigating family law and juvenile court proceedings. She is fluent in Spanish and has a strong record of representing diverse communities.

Licensed in California, Nebraska, and New York, Jill M. Abrahamson is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the District of Nebraska and regularly serves as court-appointed defense counsel and guardian ad litem. With more than 75% of her practice devoted to litigation, Jill offers vigorous, compassionate representation for those in need of strong legal guidance.
