Tristan R. Pettit is the President and an accomplished attorney at Pettit Law Group S.C., concentrating his practice on landlord-tenant and real estate law across Wisconsin. He represents landlords and property management companies in both commercial and residential matters, handling evictions, lease disputes, and damage claims. With a deep understanding of property law, Tristan provides trusted counsel on compliance and best practices in property management.
Tristan earned his B.A. with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his J.D. from Marquette University Law School. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. His practice includes drafting and interpreting commercial leases and residential rental agreements, advising clients on risk management, and defending cases involving Fair Housing, building code orders, nuisance lawsuits, and Wisconsin Administrative Code violations.
In addition to his practice, Tristan is a respected educator and author. Since 2008, he has presented his statewide Landlord Boot Camp, an intensive seminar on landlord-tenant law. He authored The Landlord’s Companion: A Comprehensive Handbook of Residential Landlord-Tenant Law in Wisconsin and contributed to the Wisconsin Landlord & Tenant Manual, published by the State Bar of Wisconsin. He also writes the Wisconsin Landlord-Tenant Law Blog, a leading resource for property owners and managers.
Tristan R. Pettit is a past president of the Rental Property Association of Wisconsin, Inc., where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
