Tristan Akers is an employment attorney at Coffman Legal, LLC in Columbus, Ohio. Tristan earned his B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2019, and his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2022. While at Moritz, Tristan was a Research Assistant focused on the impacts of COVID-19 on Sixth Circuit litigation and on judicial elections. He served as a Staff Editor and later a Managing Editor for the Ohio State Law Journal, where his note on LGBT employment protections was published online in 2021.
Tristan’s interest in employment law deepened during his time working for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, assisting with unemployment claims during the COVID-19 pandemic. That experience solidified his passion for employee advocacy and inspired him to pursue a career focused on workplace justice. Today, Tristan provides thoughtful and energetic representation to employees facing mistreatment, helping them navigate legal challenges and pursue fair outcomes.
Tristan Akers is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the U.S. District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
