Robert B. Orgel is a highly regarded bankruptcy lawyer with decades of experience representing debtors, creditors, trustees, and official committees in complex Chapter 11 cases. He has built a national reputation for navigating high-stakes restructuring and insolvency matters with precision and strategic insight.
Robert earned his B.A. from Rutgers University in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law in 1981. After law school, he clerked for Judge Martin Pense in the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii (1981–82), gaining first hand insight into federal court procedures and judicial reasoning.
Robert has led and advised on numerous major Chapter 11 matters, including representing debtors like True Religion and Monaco Coach, official committees in the Boy Scouts of America and TK Holdings Inc. (Takata) cases, and creditors in the Lehman Brothers Holdings litigation. His work also extends to trustee representation, including the Hiuka America Corporation case.
