Timothy J. Bernasek

Timothy J. Bernasek is a partner at Dunn Carney in Portland, Oregon, who focuses on agriculture and natural resources law as well as administrative, real estate, employment, and business matters. He leads the firm’s Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Team and works with clients on employment, land use, real estate, contract, and regulatory issues. His practice emphasizes practical options that help businesses evaluate legal risks and make informed decisions.

Bernasek earned his J.D. from Willamette University School of Law and his M.B.A. from Willamette University’s Atkinson School of Management in 1998. He previously received a B.S. in Business Economics from Willamette University in 1993. His combined legal and business education provides a useful foundation for advising agricultural businesses and other clients on operational, employment, real estate, and regulatory concerns.

Before joining Dunn Carney, Bernasek served as general counsel for the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation, where he worked on legislative strategy and administered the Oregon Agricultural Legal Foundation. He also founded the Farm Employers Education and Legal Defense Service in 2000 and has provided legal services involving farm labor matters.
