Tom focuses his legal practice on labor and employment matters for management clients across the country. He represents employers before federal, state, and local agencies, along with state and federal courts. His work covers disputes in more than twenty states, helping businesses address workplace concerns while reducing legal and operational risks.
Tom earned an A.B. from the University of Illinois in 1984 before completing a J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1987. He graduated with Honors and later built a practice centered on employment litigation, labor relations, wage and hour matters, and multi-state compliance concerns for employers.
Tom has extensive courtroom and litigation experience that supports his practical approach to advising employers. He guides clients through workplace investigations, policy concerns, and employee disputes while helping management teams strengthen human resource procedures. His national experience allows him to address changing employment laws and workplace obligations in different jurisdictions.
Tom has also contributed to the legal community through published articles and presentations involving labor and employment law developments. His writing has covered workplace legislation, labor agreements, employee protections, and compliance concerns affecting employers. He has also spoken at professional events discussing legislative updates and employment issues facing Illinois employers.
Tom remains active in professional and community organizations connected to employment law and regional development. He has served with organizations including the Illinois Center for Autism, Madison County Urban League, and United Way of Greater St. Louis. His involvement reflects a long-standing commitment to community engagement and professional leadership activities.
