Thomas Bucci

Thomas W. Bucci is a co-founder and partner at Willinger, Willinger & Bucci, PLLC and leads the firm’s Labor and Employment Group. Based in Connecticut, he represents and advises employees in public- and private-sector labor and employment matters. His practice includes workplace discrimination, employee rights, labor disputes, appellate matters, and proceedings before state agencies. Clients rely on his experience when employment disputes require careful advocacy in administrative hearings, trial courts, or on appeal.

Bucci earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and history from Sacred Heart University in 1969. He received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1973. His education provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, structured problem solving, and persuasive advocacy. He is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

For more than 45 years, Bucci has represented employees before Connecticut and federal courts and key state labor agencies. His experience includes advocacy before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Connecticut State Board of Labor Relations, and the Connecticut Board of Mediation and Arbitration. He successfully argued Connecticut v. Teal before the United States Supreme Court, securing a precedent-setting victory for his clients in an employment discrimination case. He also previously served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Bridgeport.

Thomas W. Bucci brings legal, civic, and leadership experience to complex employment and appellate matters. He served as Mayor of Bridgeport from 1985 through 1989 and as president of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. He remains a member of that organization as well as the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Bar Association. His background in public service, litigation, and labor law supports practical guidance for employees facing significant workplace and discrimination issues.
