Terence E. “Terry” Leibold is a partner at Petefish, Immel, Hird, Johnson & Leibold, LLP in Lawrence, Kansas. His practice focuses on civil litigation, creditors’ rights, real estate law, property owners’ associations, and legal matters affecting small businesses. He represents clients throughout Kansas and Missouri in disputes involving commercial, property, and contractual issues, providing practical legal strategies tailored to each matter.

Terry earned both his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Kansas. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History and German before attending the University of Kansas School of Law, where he developed the legal foundation that guides his practice today.

Terry also maintains a substantial real estate practice, assisting clients with a wide range of property-related matters. He has represented clients in mortgage foreclosures, prescriptive easement disputes, quiet title actions, and security interest foreclosures. His experience includes drafting and negotiating commercial and residential real estate leases, purchase and sale agreements, and other real estate instruments such as easements, licenses, mortgages, and deeds.

In addition to private practice, Terry served as a District Court Judge Pro Tem for Douglas County, Kansas, where he presided over numerous bench trials. He has also remained active in the legal community through leadership roles in professional organizations, including the Kansas Bar Association and the Judge Hugh Means American Inn of Court.

Terry is admitted to practice in Kansas and Missouri, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
