About
T. Morgan Ward Jr. is a respected member of Stites & Harbison, PLLC Business Litigation Service Group, based in Louisville, Kentucky. He represents clients in complex commercial, regulatory, and constitutional litigation, with a special focus on real estate disputes, banking industry regulations, title insurance defense, bad faith claims, and eminent domain matters. His practice also includes trial work, arbitration, mediation, and appeals in state and federal courts.
Morgan earned his B.A. in Economics from Davidson College in 1985, which included a summer at Cambridge University studying England’s Age of Revolution and Romanticism. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1989. While in law school, he served on the Kentucky Law Journal, received the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for significant legal scholarship, and won Best Brief in his first-year moot court program.
Over his accomplished career, Morgan has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the Kentucky Supreme Court, and the Kentucky Court of Appeals. He has tried numerous jury and bench cases and served as second chair before the U.S. Supreme Court in Intel Containers International Corp. v. Huddleston. Morgan’s notable work includes winning landmark rulings that invalidated restrictive real estate brokerage laws and successfully defending clients in high-profile constitutional and real estate matters.
In addition to his extensive litigation practice, T. Morgan Ward Jr. is highly engaged in serving both the legal community and the public. He serves on the Kentucky Personnel Board, contributes to local historic preservation commissions, and is a past Board Chair of the Legal Aid Society.
