About

Michaela Kelley Canterbury has built a legal career spanning over three decades, focused on helping clients in personal injury and insurance litigation matters. She has a strong reputation for representing people injured through no fault of their own, including those affected by sexual assault, workplace harassment, medical malpractice, and serious physical trauma. Her legal work extends to court trials, mediations, and arbitrations throughout south-central Alaska.

Michaela earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she also completed a minor in Philosophy. She later received her Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University Law School in Spokane, Washington. To further enhance her trial skills, Michaela attended the Trial Lawyers College, which focuses on advanced litigation methods used by leading trial attorneys nationwide.

Michaela has remained committed to the development of young legal minds in Alaska. She has volunteered as a moderator and teacher for the Anchorage Youth Court and has supported high school students through the Chugiak High School mock trial program. Her dedication to the profession also includes leadership roles; she is a past President of the Alaska Association of Trial Lawyers and served on its board to support ongoing legal education and ethics.

Michaela is a member of both the Alaska Bar Association and the Anchorage Bar Association. She currently serves on the Lawyers Assistance Committee of the Alaska Bar Association, a group that helps legal professionals navigate personal and professional difficulties while upholding the standards of the legal community.

Michaela Kelley Canterbury is also a published author. Recognized as a #1 new release in its category, the book shows her deep understanding of hardship, compassion, and resilience—qualities that also define her approach to legal practice.
