Susana Ruiz

Susana Ruiz is a managing attorney at S.L. Pitts PC, where she concentrates her practice on high-conflict family law cases involving complex financial and parenting issues. With a background in both litigation and negotiation, she provides clients with strategic guidance through challenging divorces, custody disputes, and support matters.

Susana earned her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. During law school, she served as lead law clerk for the Moderate Means Program, handling family, consumer, and housing law cases. She also externed with the Children and Youth Advocacy Clinic, assisting in drafting memoranda to help children secure Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

Susana has extensive experience in cases involving closely held businesses, property classification, spousal maintenance, and complex compensation packages. Her ability to analyze financial data and assess nuanced legal claims helps her clients protect their interests during divorce. She also advocates effectively in matters of spousal and child support, ensuring equitable resolutions for her clients.

Fluent in Spanish and licensed in Washington State, Susana is also a skilled litigator with experience in arbitration, motion hearings, and trial proceedings. She began her legal career as a Rule 9 legal extern with King County Public Defense, gaining valuable courtroom experience representing clients in juvenile court appearances.
