Stephen T. Hegedus is the Managing Partner of Stott, Hollowell, Windham & Stancil, PLLC, where he focuses his practice on real estate law and business formation. He serves individuals, families, and small businesses throughout Gaston County and surrounding communities, providing accessible, practical legal guidance rooted in local experience and responsiveness.
Stephen earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, with a Minor in German, from Appalachian State University in 2009. During his undergraduate studies, he was an active member of the Appalachian State Marching Band, developing discipline and teamwork skills that continue to influence his professional approach. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law in 2013.
While in law school, Stephen was deeply involved in public service and experiential learning. He was a founding member of the Elon Law Pro Bono Board, interned with Legal Aid of North Carolina, and externed with the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office. These experiences shaped his commitment to community-focused, service-oriented legal practice.
After being admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in April 2014, Stephen identified a need for affordable and approachable legal services in his hometown of Mount Holly. He opened his own law office to meet that need and has since built a practice centered on helping clients navigate real estate transactions and business formation with clarity and confidence.
