Robert M. Elliot is a partner at EMP Law Firm and an accomplished trial attorney with more than 38 years of experience handling complex legal matters. His practice includes employment law, disability and long-term disability claims, civil rights litigation, personal injury, and business disputes for clients across North Carolina.
Robert earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His legal education laid the groundwork for a career defined by strong advocacy, meticulous preparation, and a deep understanding of both trial and appellate practice.
Robert is widely respected for his courtroom experience and commitment to the rule of law. He has successfully argued a case before the United States Supreme Court and has represented clients in numerous jury trials and hearings in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina and the region.
Robert has also played a significant role in civil liberties advocacy, including representing detainees at Guantanamo Bay who were held for years without legal counsel.
