Stephen S. Newland

Stephen S. Newland is a respected Illinois attorney with nearly 30 years of experience, focusing his practice on foreclosure defense, real estate transactions, and estate planning. Stephen earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. At DePaul, he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence. His early legal work included handling high-profile personal injury cases at a national law firm and representing underserved clients at the DePaul Legal Aid Clinic.

Stephen co-founded Newland & Newland, LLP in 1993 with his brother. The firm has since expanded to a team of eight attorneys serving clients across a range of legal matters. Stephen has successfully led one of the largest foreclosure defense practices in the Chicago area, helping clients obtain loan modifications and even regain homes after foreclosure sales.
