Stephen J. Carmody

Stephen J. Carmody is a seasoned litigator and member of Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes, PLLC. His practice emphasizes labor and employment, intellectual property, construction, and complex commercial disputes. Over the course of his career, Stephen has successfully tried numerous cases in both state and federal courts, participated in arbitrations across the country, and argued before appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He is highly regarded for his advocacy and leadership in litigation matters.

Stephen earned his B.S.B.A. with honors from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1984 and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 1987. He is admitted to the bars of Mississippi, Georgia, and Arkansas and practices before multiple federal courts, including the Fifth, Eighth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. His education and broad admissions provide clients with trusted representation at every level of litigation.

A recognized leader in labor and employment law, Stephen founded and chaired Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes, PLLC’s Labor and Employment practice group. He has handled collective action lawsuits, complex arbitrations, and intellectual property litigation. His experience extends to employee benefits and construction law. Frequently invited to teach and present at legal seminars, he has contributed to continuing education programs for the University of Mississippi and the National Business Institute, in addition to guest lecturing at Mississippi College School of Law.
