About
Stephen Corby is the founder and managing attorney of Emblem Legal, PLLC, in the Charlotte area. He focuses on family law and civil litigation, helping individuals address divorce, child custody, financial support, and disputes involving family property. His practice also covers protective orders and agreements between spouses. He works to guide clients through procedures that may affect their children, finances, and future plans.
Stephen attended the University of South Carolina Upstate and graduated from Charlotte School of Law. While in law school, he captained a trial team that reached the top four nationally. He also interned with the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office and the Union County District Attorney’s Office. Those experiences provided early exposure to courtroom preparation and contrasting sides of litigation.
His firm handles matters such as alimony, divorce, child custody and support, equitable distribution, separation agreements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and domestic violence protective orders. His civil litigation practice adds experience with contested legal proceedings. Stephen draws on advocacy training and familiarity with local courts when helping clients prepare for negotiation, hearings, and other steps in the legal process.
Stephen Corby has coached law school trial teams and volunteered with Safe Alliance, an organization serving people affected by domestic violence. His courtroom-oriented training complements his representation in family disputes that may require negotiation or litigation. He aims to help clients understand their rights, prepare for court when necessary, and address difficult legal issues with a practical plan.
