Sonny Banks

Sonny Banks is the founder of Banks Law in Philadelphia and has practiced extensively in Pennsylvania workers’ compensation since 1985. He represents injured workers and is certified as a Workers’ Compensation Specialist by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The firm represents injured and disabled clients in workers’ compensation, Social Security Disability, long-term disability, and veterans benefits matters across Pennsylvania.

Sonny earned a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.A. from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He completed his legal education at Villanova before building a practice focused on Pennsylvania workers’ compensation. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals of the Federal Bar. His career has remained closely connected to workers’ compensation law and advocacy for people dealing with workplace injuries and disability claims.

Sonny practices regularly before Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Judges and the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board. He has served as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and continues to participate in programs for lawyers who practice in this field. His career highlights include a $2.5 million workers’ compensation settlement. His work centers on securing benefits and compensation for workers whose injuries affect their health, earnings, and ability to remain employed.

Sonny Banks received the Philadelphia Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section’s Martha J. Hampton Award and has received Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers recognition for workers’ compensation work. He has served with the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and remains active in state and local bar groups connected to workers’ compensation.
