Prior to law school, Shelby completed a Master’s degree in Ancient Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario, supported by the Graduate Research and Dean’s Scholarships. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Michigan State University, where she was consistently named to the Dean’s List and served as Undergraduate Chair Representative.
Before joining Foley as a full-time associate, Shelby worked as a Summer Associate at the firm. She also gained valuable experience as a legal analyst at a system software company, where she managed intellectual property records, researched data security issues, and reviewed commercial contracts for legal risk.
At Foley & Lardner, Shelby contributes to the firm’s transactional practice by supporting contract drafting, due diligence, and corporate governance matters. Her combined experience in philosophy, legal technology, and business law enables her to approach complex issues with clarity and analytical precision.
