Sean began his academic journey with a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Vermont. He earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, followed by an LL.M. in Taxation from the Graduate Tax Program at Boston University School of Law. These degrees laid the groundwork for his deep understanding of both legal and financial matters.
Sean started his legal career as a legal assistant in the litigation department at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. He later worked with the Skadden Fellowship Foundation and contributed legal research to the Massachusetts Senate Counsel’s Office. These roles sharpened his legal skills and deepened his commitment to public service.
Sean has advised hundreds of families and business owners on estate and tax matters, always tailoring plans to meet unique needs. Whether setting up trusts or handling estate administration, he breaks down complex legal terms into simple steps. His clients value his ability to make difficult decisions feel manageable and informed.
Sean also served as a senior editor at Parker Tax Publishing, expanding his tax law knowledge. His earlier experience included clerkships at respected estate planning firms like Squillace & Associates, P.C., and Margolis & Bloom, LLP. His practical background supports his thorough and client-first planning methods.
Sean Hagan continues to support individuals and families across Massachusetts with trusted legal advice and a strong focus on clarity, empathy, and long-term protection. He gives back through teaching and nonprofit work, including a past role as a legal writing instructor and current service on several nonprofit boards.
