Scott T. Moorey

Scott T. Moorey is the Founder of the Law Firm of Scott T. Moorey and a criminal defense attorney with more than 25 years of experience. He focuses his practice on defending individuals accused of criminal offenses throughout Florida. His legal work includes DUI and DWI, drug crimes, violent crimes, federal crimes, traffic matters, and other criminal cases. He uses his courtroom experience and criminal law knowledge to provide clients with focused representation and guidance.

Moorey earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in 1994. He later earned a J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, in 1997. His legal education provided a foundation in legal research, writing, and advocacy. These academic experiences prepared him for a career focused on criminal defense and representing individuals involved in complex legal matters. His education supports his work in handling criminal cases.

Moorey began his legal career in 1998 as a criminal defense attorney after interning at the State Attorney’s Office in 1997. He later practiced with a large law firm, where he became a partner, before establishing his own firm. His recognitions include an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, recognition as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers, and recognition as a Top Southwest Florida Lawyer through peer recognition published in Gulfshore Life Magazine. He has handled criminal cases involving a wide range of charges.
