Kevin Marcilliat

Kevin Marcilliat is a North Carolina criminal defense lawyer and managing partner at Marcilliat & Mills, PLLC, whose practice is devoted to criminal litigation. He has handled hundreds of criminal cases in more than 60 counties and across North Carolina’s three federal districts. His work covers DWI charges, drug offenses, domestic violence, theft, assault, traffic violations, sex crimes, and federal matters. He represents individuals and businesses facing white-collar investigations by state and federal agencies.

Marcilliat earned a J.D. from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. He graduated with Order of Old Kivett honors. He earned a B.S. in Accounting, cum laude, from Auburn University. His academic background combined legal studies with a foundation in accounting.

Marcilliat developed criminal defense experience before graduation through internships with public defender offices. He interned with the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office and the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of North Carolina. He later worked as an associate attorney and handled felony defense matters early in private practice. His case experience includes drug trafficking, financial crimes, murder allegations, sex offenses, DWI, fraud, and government investigations.

Kevin Marcilliat is admitted to practice in North Carolina and the US District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of North Carolina. His professional memberships include the North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Advocates for Justice, North Carolina State Bar, and Wake County Bar Association. He is a member of the 10th Judicial District Bar Association as well. His honors include recognition in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition and the Richard A. Lord Moot Court Competition.
