Scott M. Zurakowski

Scott M. Zurakowski is an attorney whose practice focuses on employment and labor law, business law, complex litigation, OSHA compliance, and oil and gas law. He serves as a director, shareholder, and member of his firm’s Management Committee while leading the Employment and Labor Section. He represents private-sector, public-sector, and national employers in employment disputes, labor relations, collective bargaining, workplace compliance, and regulatory matters.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mount Union in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 1997. During law school, he served as Presiding Justice of the Moot Court Board of Advocates and helped win the 1996 National Administrative Law Moot Court Competition. He has been admitted to practice in Ohio since 1998 and before multiple US District Courts and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Scott advises employers on employee handbooks, workplace investigations, discipline, layoffs, wrongful termination, discrimination claims, ADA and FMLA compliance, OSHA matters, union organizing campaigns, grievances, and arbitration proceedings. He also represents clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, defending class actions, contract disputes, and other complex litigation. In addition, Scott counsels businesses in the oil and gas industry on regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters.

Scott M. Zurakowski is a member of the Stark County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, and the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America since 2012, named an Ohio Super Lawyer, earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and is a frequent speaker and author on employment and labor law topics.
