Lauri J. Laughland

Lauri J. Laughland is an attorney whose practice focuses on family law, bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, and civil litigation. Since opening her private practice in 1985, she has represented individuals and families in a wide range of legal matters, guiding clients through court proceedings, hearings, and legal disputes. Her practice includes representation in Missouri state courts and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Lauri earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri–Columbia before receiving her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 1984. During law school, she clerked for several attorneys, gaining practical legal experience before establishing her own law practice shortly after graduation.

Lauri founded her law practice in early 1985 and has spent decades representing clients throughout Missouri. She is licensed to practice in all Missouri state courts and has argued cases before the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Western District and the Supreme Court of Missouri. She also regularly practices before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Her professional memberships include the Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Cass County Bar Association, and the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association.

Lauri J. Laughland assists clients with family law, bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, and other civil legal matters through experienced legal counsel and courtroom advocacy. In addition to her legal practice, she has been recognized for her pro bono service representing United States military veterans and previously served a three-year term on the board of officers for the Jackson County Public Water Supply District Number 1.
