Scott D. Blake

Scott D. Blake is an attorney at Felhaber Larson who serves as outside general counsel to businesses and business owners. His practice covers employment law, business law, civil litigation, estate disputes, and real estate matters. He advises employers on FMLA, ADA, FLSA, discrimination, workplace policies, employee discipline, executive compensation, and employment agreements. He drafts and negotiates noncompete agreements designed to protect confidential information, trade secrets, customer relationships, and business interests.

Scott earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in Anthropology and Political Science from Miami University in 2005 and his J.D., cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2011. He was admitted to practice in Illinois in 2011 and Minnesota in 2013. He is also admitted before the US District Courts for the District of Minnesota and the Northern District of Illinois, supporting his state and federal litigation practice today.

Scott represents companies in employment-related claims, noncompete and trade secret disputes, and other commercial and business litigation. He also has experience representing business owners in shareholder disputes and helping clients separate from business partners when necessary. His work includes alternative dispute resolution, insurance coverage disputes, estate litigation, and local counsel matters. He combines preventive counseling with courtroom advocacy, helping clients address legal risks before disputes arise and litigate when needed.

Scott D. Blake is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. He also participates in community service through the Edina Rotary Club and serves on the Board of Directors of JCS Affective Sober Living. Through his legal services, he continues to advise businesses and owners on employment, commercial, real estate, and litigation matters while providing practical guidance on workplace compliance, business relationships, and effective dispute resolution.
