About

Scott Amy is a partner with extensive experience in intellectual property litigation. He represents national and international clients in high-stakes disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and unfair competition in both state and federal courts. In addition to his courtroom practice, he advises businesses on intellectual property strategy, licensing, due diligence, and enforcement, helping clients protect and maximize the value of their innovations and creative assets.

Scott earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2004. During law school, he served on the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review and had his case note published. He holds a B.A., cum laude with high honors, in Biology and Environmental Studies from Middlebury College, where he developed a strong foundation in science that informs his intellectual property work. Before law school, he worked as a research associate at Emory University’s Center for Molecular Medicine, co-authoring published scientific articles.

Scott began his legal career at Alston & Bird LLP, where he spent over eight years in the intellectual property litigation, trademark, and copyright groups. He then practiced for more than a decade at a leading intellectual property boutique, handling a wide range of disputes for clients across industries such as life sciences, consumer products, mechanical, and chemical technologies. His practice combines litigation strength with practical counseling for businesses navigating complex IP challenges.

Licensed in Georgia, Scott Amy is admitted before multiple federal courts, including the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and district courts across the country. He is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association Intellectual Property Section and the State Bar of Georgia IP Law Section. Through his litigation experience and strategic counseling, Scott has established himself as a trusted advocate in intellectual property law.
