About

Sarah A. Badten serves as Of Counsel and concentrates her practice on community association law, representing homeowners and condominium associations throughout Alaska. With over 16 years of experience in association-related matters, she has represented more than 100 associations across the state. She is known for her responsiveness and her commitment to guiding clients through legal challenges involving governance, compliance, real estate, and enforcement.

Badten earned her B.S. from Oregon State University before completing her J.D. at Willamette University College of Law in 2006, where she also served as Articles Editor for the Willamette University College of Law Review. She was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 2007 and remains active in the state’s legal community, including membership in the Alaska State Bar Association and the Community Associations Institute.

Badten practice focuses on governing document enforcement, including declarations, bylaws, house rules, and assessment collection. She regularly assists associations with foreclosure actions, enforcement of super-priority liens, architectural controls, and nuisance violations. In addition, she advises on interpreting governing documents to provide clarity for boards and members. Beyond association work, Badten handles contract disputes, real estate disputes, creditor’s rights, landlord-tenant law on behalf of landlords, secured transactions, and commercial litigation. Her collaboration with property management companies ensures efficient and effective legal solutions for the associations she represents.

Before entering the legal profession, Sarah A. Badten worked as an account manager providing marketing solutions for companies in diverse industries, developing skills in problem-solving and client service that continue to inform her practice. She has also shared her expertise through seminars on homeowner and condominium association issues and has been recognized with the Anchorage Daily News “Achievement in Business” Award in 2020.
