Tyler Rutherford is a seasoned attorney at Carabin Shaw, where he focuses his practice on personal injury law. With a background in employment law, insurance litigation, construction law, and general civil litigation, he brings a comprehensive skill set to represent injured and disadvantaged clients across Texas.
Mr. Rutherford earned both his B.A. and J.D. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. He graduated cum laude from St. Mary’s School of Law in 1996 and was inducted into the John M. Harlan Honor Society. He is also a member of Phi Delta Phi, the national law honor fraternity, highlighting his dedication to academic and professional excellence.
After law school, Mr. Rutherford opened his own private practice, gaining years of experience in diverse legal areas before joining Carabin Shaw. At the firm, he now channels his expertise into advocating for personal injury victims, helping them secure the compensation and justice they rightfully deserve.
Mr. Rutherford is admitted to practice in Texas, the Western District of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court. He is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the Federal Bar Association and the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association. His licensure in multiple courts strengthens his ability to handle complex cases at various levels.
Known for his compassionate and client-centered approach, S. Tyler Rutherford often states that if he hadn’t pursued law, he would have become a social worker. This spirit of service defines his legal practice and reflects his commitment to helping those in need.
