Ryan E. Alley

Ryan Alley is an experienced intellectual property attorney providing comprehensive IP counsel to clients across a wide range of industries. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, trademark protection, and strategic IP advising, helping clients secure, manage, and leverage intellectual property assets in competitive domestic and international markets.

Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University School of Law, where he concentrated his studies on intellectual property law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, graduating as a member of Alpha Nu Sigma, a national nuclear engineering honor society.

Ryan’s patent practice includes guiding clients through every stage of patent procurement before U.S. and foreign patent offices. He has prepared and prosecuted thousands of utility, design, and reissue patent applications, including U.S. and international filings under the Paris Convention and the Patent Cooperation Treaty.

In addition to patent prosecution, Ryan’s work includes trademark searches, application filing, prosecution, and trademark enforcement. He regularly advises clients on portfolio development, IP harvesting, licensing strategies, freedom-to-operate analyses, and infringement support, ensuring intellectual property aligns with broader business objectives.

Before founding his own firm, Ryan practiced as a patent attorney at a prominent intellectual property boutique in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a registered patent attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice law in both Virginia and California.
