Robert Rikard

Robert Rikard is the founding partner of RP Legal LLC, the nation’s only litigation firm devoted exclusively to representing victims of Indexed Universal Life (IUL) insurance fraud. A nationally recognized authority in this field, he leads a practice focused on helping clients recover losses from deceptive policy structures and misleading financial marketing.

Robert earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1997, following his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1993. His academic training supports his strong analytical approach and his ability to navigate complex financial products, policy designs, and litigation challenges.

With decades of litigation experience, Robert has represented hundreds of clients nationwide, securing tens of millions of dollars in damages for victims of premium-financed IULs, IRA or 401(k) rollovers, and policies falsely promoted as tax-free retirement solutions. His work includes achieving one of the first significant jury verdicts in a fraudulent IUL scheme against a major national insurer.

Robert is known for his rare ability to dissect cost structures, commission arrangements, and policy mechanics that frequently lead to policy failure. His firm regularly challenges insurers, brokers, and financial institutions through strategic, targeted litigation aimed at exposing undisclosed risks and recovering meaningful compensation for clients.

In addition to IUL litigation, Robert has extensive experience handling complex civil and criminal matters across the United States. He has served on steering committees in Multi-District Litigation proceedings and has been appointed lead counsel in major class actions, trying cases involving wrongful death, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, and commercial disputes.
