Robert N. Gellatly

Robert N. Gellatly is a seasoned trial attorney and partner at Luvera Law Firm, where he devotes his practice entirely to representing plaintiffs in serious personal injury, medical malpractice, and product liability cases. With more than three decades of experience, he has handled a wide range of complex litigation and earned national recognition for his results and legal skills. Before joining Luvera Law Firm in 2000, he was a partner at Helsell Fetterman LLP, where he defended hospitals, physicians, and manufacturers—experience that now informs his strategic approach as a plaintiffs’ advocate.

Mr. Gellatly received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound in 1982. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law in 1985. His academic background laid a strong foundation for a career built on integrity, technical excellence, and courtroom success.

Among Mr. Gellatly’s recent accomplishments is a $20 million settlement for a paralyzed patient due to medical negligence at Overlake Hospital and a $40 million jury verdict in a product liability case involving a defective medical device. His work has repeatedly earned him prestigious honors, including being named “Lawyer of the Year” for Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation in Seattle by Best Lawyers® in 2022, 2017, and 2015. He was also recognized as “Trial Lawyer of the Year” 2009 by the Washington State Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
