Robert J. Rooth

Robert J. Rooth is the president and founder of The Rooth Law Firm in Evanston and has represented injured people and families for more than four decades. His practice focuses on nursing home neglect, personal injury, car accidents, brain injuries, wrongful death, and other serious claims arising from negligence. He works directly with clients throughout the matter and emphasizes detailed investigation, accountability, and clear explanations of the legal process.

Robert earned a B.A. from Indiana University and completed his J.D. at DePaul University School of Law after studying at Washington University School of Law. His early legal training included work under trial lawyer Leonard M. Ring. That experience exposed him to complex injury litigation involving engineering evidence, mass-casualty claims, terrorism-related civil litigation, and major medical malpractice matters, shaping his later focus on serious injury and negligence cases.

Robert’s early career included involvement in litigation arising from the Cline Avenue bridge collapse, the Achille Lauro hijacking, and a major Illinois medical malpractice case that produced a $16 million verdict. Since 1987, he has devoted his practice to injured victims and families, with particular attention to nursing home neglect and personal injury matters. His work includes car and truck accidents, catastrophic injuries, medical negligence issues, and claims against care facilities.

Robert J. Rooth has been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer from 2021 through 2027. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, and Illinois State Bar Association. His practice combines decades of trial-focused experience, direct client involvement, and long-standing work on serious injury claims.
