Mariam L. Hafezi

Mariam L. Hafezi is the owner and trial attorney at MLH Law Ltd., where she represents plaintiffs and families in personal injury and wrongful death matters. Her practice includes motor vehicle collisions, medical negligence, premises liability, animal attacks, construction negligence, and workers’ compensation. She has spent her legal career representing injured people and has handled cases from investigation and litigation through jury trial and appeal in Illinois state and federal courts.

Mariam earned a J.D. magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where she was on the Dean’s List and served as an assistant editor of the NIU Law Review. She also received a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa with a major in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. Her academic background supports a litigation practice that requires legal research, written advocacy, case strategy, and communication with clients facing complex injury claims.

Mariam has first-chaired numerous jury trials to verdict in Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Lake Counties and in federal court in Chicago. Her appellate experience includes briefing, arguing, and winning appeals in Illinois’ First and Second Districts, as well as arguing before the Illinois Supreme Court. Her practice has included complex medical negligence, auto accident, premises liability, construction negligence, products liability, and wrongful death cases, giving her experience across a wide range of serious injury disputes.

Mariam L. Hafezi has received recognition including the Northern Illinois University College of Law Young Alumna of the Year award and selections by Super Lawyers. She is active in organizations including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Illinois State Bar Association, and DuPage County Bar Association.
