Rob Dickinson is Of Counsel at Clark Wardle LLP in Boise and focuses on commercial real estate development, transactions, and financing. He represents developers, owners, investors, landlords, tenants, and lenders throughout the development lifecycle from acquisition through disposition. His practice includes complex ownership, investment, leasing, development, and financing arrangements, with particular experience structuring transactions that involve multiple entities and sophisticated economic terms.
Rob earned a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the St. Mary’s Law Review. He received a B.S. in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from Oklahoma State University. His finance and legal education supports work involving investment structures, project economics, governance, financing terms, and the contractual arrangements used to develop, own, operate, and transfer commercial real estate.
Dickinson spent 27 years with Hawkins, a national real estate development and investment firm, and served as General Counsel for 25 years. He led the law department and advised executive leadership and development teams on projects in 29 states. His experience includes joint ventures, GP/LP structures, waterfall and promote arrangements, governance rights, construction and mezzanine financing, preferred equity, special-purpose entities, purchase agreements, leases, easements, development agreements, and construction contracts.
Rob Dickinson also practiced earlier in his career at a Boise law firm and clerked for Chief Judge Jim D. Pappas of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Idaho. He is admitted to the Idaho State Bar and participates in real property, business, corporate, commercial, bankruptcy, and employment-law organizations. His practice combines in-house business judgment with detailed transaction experience across the commercial real estate lifecycle.
