About
Rene F. Rocha is an attorney in Morgan & Morgan’s New Orleans office whose practice includes Mass Tort, Toxics and Environmental, Maritime & Admiralty, Whistleblower & Qui Tam, Catastrophic Event, Ultra-Processed Foods, and Offshore Injury matters. Rocha handles complex claims involving environmental contamination, defective pharmaceutical products, fraud, nuisance, regulatory violations, and other large-scale disputes in which individuals, communities, workers, or public entities face significant legal and economic consequences.
Rocha completed the General Course at the London School of Economics in 2006, earned a B.A. from Tulane University in 2007, and received a J.D. from Tulane Law School in 2010. His education in New Orleans and abroad preceded a practice built around complex litigation. That background supports his work analyzing detailed records, scientific and regulatory issues, and legal theories that commonly arise in environmental, maritime, mass-tort, and whistleblower matters.
Rocha has represented clients in matters involving fishermen along the Gulf Coast, postal workers in Kentucky, homeowners in California, municipalities in Florida, and farmers in the Midwest. His work has addressed environmental harm, corporate conduct, public nuisance, defective products, and other disputes affecting groups of claimants. These matters require coordination across substantial factual records and often involve questions of regulation, causation, damages, and responsibility.
Rene F. Rocha was named to the Lawdragon 500 Global Plaintiff Lawyers for 2026. He is admitted in Louisiana and in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana. His practice combines mass-tort and environmental litigation with maritime and whistleblower work, giving clients experience across complex disputes that may involve multiple parties, technical evidence, regulatory frameworks, and significant community or economic interests.
