Rafael Gil

Rafael Gil is the founding attorney of The Gil Law Firm and has focused on bankruptcy law since 2000. He has filed thousands of bankruptcy cases for individuals and businesses across Alabama—hispractice centers on helping clients regain control of their finances through clear legal guidance and practical solutions. With a strong background in finance and banking, he understands the challenges people face when dealing with overwhelming debt.

Rafael earned his B.S. in Pre-Law and an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Auburn University. He later obtained his J.D. from Faulkner University’s Jones School of Law. During law school, he clerked for a bankruptcy attorney, gaining hands-on experience in bankruptcy proceedings. He was admitted to practice law in Alabama and in the Federal Courts in the Middle District of Alabama.

Rafael has focused on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases throughout his career. He also assists clients with foreclosure prevention, debt settlement, and debt restructuring. His background in banking allows him to evaluate both debtor and creditor perspectives, helping him build strategies that address each client’s financial situation. He works closely with clients to explain their legal options in simple terms so they can make informed decisions.
