Raed Gonzalez Olivieri is a nationally respected immigration attorney with over 25 years of legal practice. Known for his litigation and appellate advocacy skills, Mr. Gonzalez has successfully argued precedent-setting cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and multiple U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. His deep commitment to justice, especially in immigration law, has earned him wide recognition within the legal community and beyond.
Mr. Gonzalez earned his B.A. cum laude in 1992 and J.D. cum laude in 1996 from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, where he served as associate editor of the law review. He also studied comparative constitutional law at the University of Barcelona under U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in 1995. He went on to earn an LL.M. in Health Law from the University of Houston Law Center in 1998.
Mr. Gonzalez has gained national prominence throughout his career for his contributions to immigration law. He has argued and won major U.S. Supreme Court cases, including Dada v. Mukasey (2008), Mata v. Lynch (2015), and Campos-Chavez v. Garland (2024). His case record includes key victories that have reshaped due process standards, procedural fairness, and asylum law in the U.S. immigration system.
Raed Gonzalez Olivieri is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, multiple U.S. Circuit Courts, and the Supreme Courts of Texas and Puerto Rico. He is regularly invited to speak on immigration issues in both legal forums and national media, and he has appeared as an expert contributor on Univision, Fox News, the Houston Chronicle, and other outlets.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Gonzalez remains deeply committed to pro bono service. He works closely with nonprofits, including Catholic Charities, the Tahirih Justice Center, and FIEL, and leads community efforts like DACA forums and citizenship drives in Houston. His awards include the 2023 Warrior Advocate Award from the State Bar of Texas, a Lifetime Achievement Award from Texas Lawyer Magazine, and continuous recognition as a Super Lawyer and Best Lawyer since 2012.
