Helena Younossi

Helena S. Younossi is the founder and principal attorney of Younossi Law, PC, a nationally recognized immigration law firm based in South San Francisco, California. With over two decades of experience, Helena represents a broad spectrum of clients—from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies—in U.S. business immigration matters and regulatory compliance, as well as individuals and families navigating the immigration system.

Helena earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from UCLA. She is admitted to the California Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and is an inactive member of the Washington, D.C. Bar.

Helena helps employers navigate complex U.S. immigration and visa strategies, including H‑1B, L‑1, E, O‑1, and TN visas, as well as I‑9 compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and PERM-based green cards. She also represents individuals in family-based immigration, naturalization, and humanitarian visa matters. Known for her creative problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and strong client focus, Helena is trusted to resolve even the most challenging immigration issues.

Before launching her own firm, Helena served on the State Bar of California’s Executive Committee for the International Law Section and has played active roles within the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), including on its National Ethics and Practice Management Committee. She is also a contributing member of the AILA National Ethics Compendium advisory board.

Helena has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America and Northern California Super Lawyers every year since 2010 and has been named one of San Francisco’s Best Lawyers annually since 2012. A frequent speaker on immigration and ethics, Helena Younossi has presented for the ABA, PLI, the State Bar of California, and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. She is fluent in English, Farsi, and German, with a working knowledge of French, and is passionate about learning Spanish.
