She served as a Staff Attorney for nine years and as Special Counsel to Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby from 2020 to 2023. She handled over 2,500 cases across a wide range of legal issues during her tenure.

Rachel previously worked as a Staff Attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals from 2007 to 2010. Her experience with appellate courts gave her deep insight into case management, legal writing, and courtroom procedure. She has developed strong skills in problem-solving and crafting persuasive legal arguments for both trial and appellate courts.

Rachel Ferguson Bailey is admitted to practice in South Carolina, the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
