About
Qiwei Chen is a shareholder in Kirton McConkie’s Litigation section, where she focuses on commercial and complex litigation in both federal and state courts. She regularly represents major Chinese pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and e-commerce companies in cross-border disputes, as well as Utah-based businesses in shareholder, employment, trade secret, technology, real estate, and other business matters.
Qiwei earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2016, following her Master of Laws from the same institution in 2013. Qiwei began her legal studies at Shanghai Normal University, where she received her Bachelor of Laws in 2012. This international legal education enables her to advise clients with a deep understanding of both the U.S. and Chinese legal systems.
Beyond her litigation practice, Qiwei counsels foreign corporate clients on inbound investment strategies, helping them navigate the U.S. business environment. As a native of Shanghai, she is fluent in Mandarin and Shanghainese, providing an important cultural and linguistic bridge for her international clientele. Her ability to combine legal insight with cross-cultural understanding strengthens her advocacy in complex international matters.
Qiwei’s professional achievements have earned her recognition from Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Commercial Litigation (2023–2024) and selection as a Mountain States Super Lawyers Rising Star in Business Litigation (2019–2024). She was also honored with the Pittsburgh Business Times “30 Under 30” Award in 2019 for her professional accomplishments and community leadership.
Qiwei Chen is an active member of the legal community, having served on the Board of Directors for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania and as co-chair for both its Community Outreach and Nomination Committees.
