About
Philip M. Bevis is a partner at Bevis, Thiry, Henson & Katz, P.A. in Boise who focuses on divorce and family law. His practice has a particular emphasis on high-conflict custody, property division, separate-property tracing, child custody and support modifications, paternity, and complex divorce litigation. He also handles trial and appellate matters, giving clients representation across both contested proceedings and later review of important legal issues.
Philip earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Idaho in 2005 and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he interned with the Honorable Michael H. Williams in the U.S. District Court and with Idaho Legal Aid Services. Those experiences provided early exposure to federal court procedure, legal research, and client-focused legal service.
Bevis joined Bevis, Thiry & Schindele, P.A. as an associate after graduation and became a partner in 2012. His practice has developed around complex family disputes involving custody, support, property, and paternity, along with trial and appellate work. He served as president of the Fourth District Bar Association from 2017 to 2018 and remains involved with the Idaho State Bar and local bar community.
Philip M. Bevis has been recognized in connection with family-law practice and was nationally ranked among top-ten under-40 attorneys by NAFLA in 2020. His work requires close attention to financial records, parenting issues, evidence, and procedural strategy. He helps clients navigate high-conflict family cases by preparing matters for negotiation or trial and by addressing appellate issues when further review is required.
