Peter Ticktin

Peter Ticktin, Esq., is the Senior Partner of The Ticktin Law Group in Deerfield Beach, Florida, where he practices across multiple areas, including family law, business litigation, personal injury, foreclosure defense, and employment law. With a career spanning more than five decades, he has earned national recognition for his legal innovation, courtroom success, and groundbreaking contributions to the development of Florida and U.S. law.

Mr. Ticktin earned his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He began his career in Ontario, Canada, practicing criminal law as a barrister, where he appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada and successfully changed the law regarding breaking and entering. He was later admitted to the Florida Bar, where his work continues to influence modern legal principles.

Throughout his Florida practice, Mr. Ticktin has handled numerous landmark cases shaping state and national jurisprudence. His advocacy during the AIDS epidemic helped change medical confidentiality laws and inspired national awareness of patients’ rights. He has led major cases on child support, contempt, manifest injustice, and organ donation, and played a crucial role in the mortgage foreclosure crisis by uncovering the “robo-signing” scandal that led to a $30 billion national bank settlement.
