Peter Moustakis

Peter Moustakis is the founder and managing member of Sowerby & Moustakis Law, PLLC in Amherst, New Hampshire. He advises individuals, families, and small business owners on estate planning, elder law, wills, trusts, Medicaid issues, LLC formation, and equine law. Moustakis emphasizes individualized service, careful listening, and clear guidance, helping clients understand their options and address important personal, family, and business concerns with practical legal planning.

Moustakis earned his Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston and later developed a practice grounded in estate planning, business law, and client counseling. He has also served as a professor of business law at Merrimack College. His legal and teaching experience supports a thoughtful approach to explaining complex rules, evaluating risks, and helping clients make informed decisions about property, healthcare, family protection, and business organization.

His experience includes preparing wills and trusts, addressing Medicaid planning concerns, forming limited liability companies, and advising on estate and trust administration. Moustakis also works on equine law matters and has presented programs on special needs trusts, powers of attorney, probate procedures, estate administration, and firearms in estate administration. He is admitted in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and before the federal district courts in both states.

Peter Moustakis received the National Business Institute’s Outstanding Faculty Member award in 2025 and authored Estate Planning and the Modern Family: Old School Meets New School. His professional service has included roles with the New Hampshire Bar Association, the New Hampshire chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. His community leadership and educational work reflect a commitment to practical counsel, public service, and informed long-term planning.
