Paul Parsons has practiced immigration law in Austin, Texas since 1978. With over four decades of dedication, he has helped countless individuals and families navigate complex immigration challenges. Known for his legal skill and unwavering advocacy, he has received wide recognition for his contributions to the immigration law field.

Paul earned his B.A. in Political Science from Oklahoma State University in 1973. He went on to receive his juris doctorate in 1977 from the University of Texas School of Law. Admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978, he was later admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit in 1981 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1982.

Paul was appointed Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Immigration in 1992 by Governor Ann Richards. He was the first to receive the Sam Williamson Memorial Award for excellence in immigration law. His service with the American Immigration Lawyers Association included roles as Chapter Chair and six years on its national Board of Governors.

Paul also chaired several committees such as AILA’s Committee on Consumer Protection and the State Bar of Texas’ Committee on Laws Relating to Immigration for fifteen years. He was Chair of the Examinations Committee on Immigration for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and served as an Attorney Consultant to the Government of Mexico.

Paul has consistently earned accolades throughout his career. He has been named a “Texas Super Lawyer” for over 20 years and listed in The Best Lawyers in America. He holds the highest ratings from Martindale Hubbell and AVVO, and is featured in The International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers and Business Lawyers.

Paul Parsons has been recognized for 18 consecutive years in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business Guide for immigration law. His long-standing dedication and leadership continue to make a significant impact in the field.
