Paul J. Maginot

Paul J. Maginot is an experienced intellectual property attorney with a strong background in patent, trademark, and copyright law. He has handled all stages of IP legal work—from application filings to licensing and courtroom litigation. His technical experience includes areas such as mechanical systems, electromechanical and electrical devices, and medical technologies.

Mr. Maginot’s academic journey started with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University, where his studies focused on engineering and management. He continued at Purdue to earn a Master of Science in Engineering, concentrating in Electrical Engineering. He later received his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, building the legal framework to complement his technical expertise.

Mr. Maginot began his legal career as a corporate patent attorney, gaining valuable experience at both NCR Corporation and Xerox Corporation. This corporate foundation gave him insight into the unique challenges businesses face in protecting their innovations. Over the years, he has helped inventors, engineers, and companies safeguard their intellectual assets and enforce their rights through legal action when needed.

Mr. Maginot is a licensed Indiana attorney with admissions to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Federal Circuit. He is also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), allowing him to handle patent filings, prosecution, and disputes across the United States. He previously served as Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, reflecting his leadership and experience in IP law.
