Paul C. Astor

Paul C. Astor is the founding partner and senior member of Astor Weiss Kaplan & Mandel LLP, where he chairs both the firm and its executive committee. Practicing law since 1954, Mr. Astor brings unmatched experience in business and corporate law, commercial transactions, trusts and estates, real estate, and domestic relations. His leadership and legal acumen have shaped the firm’s direction for over seven decades, earning him recognition as one of Philadelphia’s most respected attorneys.

Mr. Astor earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Astor has held several public service positions, including special counsel to the Governor of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue’s Lottery Division. He played a key role in bringing Volkswagen’s manufacturing operations to Pennsylvania. His contributions to the legal field also include service as Chairman of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Law Day and its Public Relations Committee.

Mr. Astor is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and is an active member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations, as well as the Brandeis Law Society. His accomplishments have earned him recognition by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and several lifetime honors, including the American Associates of Ben Gurion University’s “Lifetime Achievement” Award.

Beyond his legal work, Mr. Astor is deeply involved in philanthropic and civic activities. He serves on numerous advisory boards, foundations, and cultural organizations, including the Abramson Center for Jewish Life, Federation of Jewish Agencies, National Liberty Museum, and Philadelphia Opera Company.
