Nika Aldrich is a first-chair litigator and leader of the Intellectual Property Litigation Group at Schwabe, where he represents companies in complex, high-stakes federal court litigation. With a strong focus on intellectual property, patent disputes, constitutional law, and bankruptcy matters, he is known for breaking down intricate legal and technical concepts for judges and juries.

Nika earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington in 2007 and his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 2004. Throughout his career, he has represented clients nationwide, handling patent infringement cases, IP disputes, and cases of constitutional significance. His experience extends beyond trial courts, with substantial appellate litigation before the Second, Third, and Ninth, Federal Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.

Admitted to practice in New York, Oregon, and Washington, Nika litigates before multiple U.S. District and federal appellate courts. His legal expertise and strategic approach to IP and technology-related disputes have earned him recognition from Chambers USA (2021-2024) and JD Supra Readers’ Choice Awards for Patents (2021, 2018).

In addition to his litigation practice, Nika is an adjunct law professor at Lewis & Clark Law School, where he shares his expertise in intellectual property and appellate litigation. He is a prolific legal writer who has published law review articles and numerous journal pieces, contributing to ongoing legal scholarship. As a co-editor of Fresh from the Bench, he helps analyze newly issued precedential decisions. His legal insights have also been cited in Forbes and other publications.
