About
Nico LaHood, founding attorney of LaHood Norton Law Group PLLC, is a highly skilled criminal defense lawyer with over two decades of legal experience. A San Antonio native, Nico has served both as an effective prosecutor and a steadfast defender of the accused, known for handling a wide range of complex criminal cases.
After earning his B.A. in Finance and Financial Services from St. Mary’s University, Nico pursued his Juris Doctorate at St. Mary’s University School of Law. Upon admission to the State Bar of Texas, he quickly distinguished himself as one of the state’s premier DWI and criminal defense attorneys.
Throughout his career, Nico has been dedicated to upholding the rights of the accused with honor and integrity. As Bexar County District Attorney, he managed a team of more than 500 employees, including 200 lawyers, leading critical prosecutions while maintaining a commitment to justice. His leadership extended to teaching roles at St. Mary’s Law School and police academies.
After serving as District Attorney, Nico co-founded LaHood Norton Law Group PLLC with attorney Jay Norton. They built a powerhouse criminal defense team of former prosecutors with over 80 years of combined experience. Today, Nico continues to aggressively defend clients in DWI/DUI cases, violent crime charges, federal criminal investigations, and complex white-collar crime matters.
In addition to courtroom advocacy, Nico LaHood is deeply committed to community engagement. He regularly speaks at schools and universities, educating the next generation on the justice system. As a member of the National Order of Barristers, he remains recognized among the top 10% of advocates from his graduating class.
