About
Nick Copper is an Of Counsel attorney with a background in legal, legislative, lobbying, and Maryland State government work. He assists clients in criminal defense, traffic court, peace/protective orders, administrative hearings, and witness representation, bringing steady communication, careful preparation, and practical judgment to people facing serious legal concerns across Maryland.
Nick earned his High School Diploma from Loyola Blakefield in June 2004. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (American Politics) from Princeton University in June 2007. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in May 2009, completing law school a semester early.
Nick built much of his early career around Maryland government, public policy, and budget work. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff within the Department of Budget and Management during much of the Hogan-Rutherford Administration, where he helped supervise annual budget book production and handled public relations and public information duties.
Nick later worked as a lead budgetary consultant at Evans and Associates, LLC, an Annapolis-based lobbying firm. In that role, he used his budget knowledge for clients, including Verizon, the Prince George’s County Council, and the Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association, while addressing funding and policy matters before the Maryland General Assembly.
Nick applies that broad public-sector and advocacy background to legal matters that require clear guidance and steady support. His work helps clients understand court processes, administrative issues, protective order concerns, witness matters, and criminal defense challenges so they can make informed decisions during stressful and unfamiliar situations.
Nick was admitted to the Maryland Bar in December 2009 and the U.S. District Court (MD) in May 2024. His accomplishments include graduating from Princeton University in three years, earning his law degree a semester early, and receiving the Dan McNeal Award for Service to the Community at Loyola Blakefield.
Nick Copper helps people by combining legal knowledge with strong communication and a calm, organized approach. His experience in government, lobbying, budgeting, and advocacy allows him to evaluate problems from several angles and support clients who need practical direction, careful representation, and confidence while moving through difficult legal matters.
