Nicholas W. Morcom is a seasoned trial attorney known for his extensive courtroom experience in commercial litigation, family law, wrongful death, personal injury, and probate disputes. Nicholas earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where he built a foundation in analytical reasoning and trial preparation. This education continues to support his ability to evaluate disputes, manage high-stakes cases, and craft effective legal strategies tailored to each client’s needs and objectives.
Nicholas’s early work in a respected Texas criminal defense practice exposed him to high-profile matters, reinforcing the importance of thorough case evaluation and analysis. As a young attorney, he defended significant criminal cases and secured notable results, including a not guilty verdict in a homicide trial. These experiences strengthened his litigation skills and sharpened his courtroom presence.
Nicholas later served at the 4th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted serious violent crimes and was honored with the Outstanding New Prosecutor Award. His responsibilities included supervising the county court and serving on the Gun Homicide Unit, further developing his ability to litigate complex and demanding cases under pressure.
Following his prosecutorial work, Nicholas practiced as a shareholder in a distinguished Jacksonville firm, where he handled complex commercial litigation involving contracts, banking, construction, real property, and fiduciary issues. He brings this depth of experience to his role as Department Head of Civil Litigation at Woolsey Morcom, where he leads a team handling multifaceted business disputes.
Nicholas W. Morcom also serves as co-Department Head of the firm’s expanding Family Law practice and is a Barrister-level member of The Florida Family Law Inn of Court.
